A three floor establishment in Capitol Hill known for its drinks, drag shows, and the insane amount of people they manage to cram into a three story building every weekend. 1F: full bar 2F: lounge with bar 3F: dance floor with gogo dancers (alumni include popular gay porn stars and local dancers), drag queens (formerly the hangout spot for RPDR season 8 contestant Robbie Turner), and a 3rd bar. R Place is of the most famous and most popular gay clubs in the city. Weekends get PACKED with people and there is a cash cover ($5-10), but it’s an essential travel destination if you’re gay and wanna go out at night. Crowd tends to be younger, a bit cliquey. Note: as an added safety precaution since the Pulse Nightclub massacre in Florida, patrons may be asked to have their IDs scanned and faces photographed by security personnel. No weapons allowed!
